What is the PPF interest rate in 2026?

The PPF interest rate for Q1 FY 2026-27 (April-June 2026) is 7.1% per annum, compounded annually. This rate is set by the government every quarter and has been 7.1% since January 2023. [VERIFY quarterly]

Can I withdraw PPF before 15 years?

Partial withdrawal is allowed from the 7th year onwards (up to 50% of balance at end of 4th year). Full premature closure is only allowed after 5 years for specific reasons (serious illness, higher education). The interest rate on premature closure is reduced by 1%.
